Standing up for the little guy! I love it. I gotta say one of my own favorite documentaries would have to be Surfwise. Not only because of my love for Surfing and the fantastical idea of being a family of traveling surfing gypsies, but because of the radical and bizarre outlooks of all the characters. Just as in narrative fiction film, the characters really make a documentary captivating. I think also of Exit Through the Gift Shop, in which both Banksy and MBW are so unique you almost can't believe they're real people. It all comes back to character...
